why o wretched soul
do you turn this way and that
why o wretched heart
are pulled here and there
why o wretched flesh
are you seduced at every turn
why o wretched man
do you clamor for God whilst chasing satan

O, my soul
Turn toward what is right
O, my heart
Follow the Spirit of God
O, my flesh
Be not seduced by sin

I will clamor after God
I will seek after His face
I will pray for His will

I reject the death that is Satan
I reject the lie that is his word
I reject the empty promise that he makes

It is You, O God
That restores my soul
Renews my heart
And purifies my flesh

Praise the name of the Lord!
Praise the Lord on high!
Holy is the name of the Lord!
Worthy is He!
Worthy is He!

She is my pornography
A delicious pleasure
That cannot be
A forbidden passion
I am desparate to try
She unravels my will
And twists my fate
She infects my every thought
And dwells just beyond my reach

Here I am
A man alone
In a room of mirrors
Surrounded on every side
I see me
Reflected in the eyes
Of all around
Each a different set
Of expectations
Of hopes
and of dreams
You see a portion of me
A bit of who I am
A reflection of your history and hope
But I am Not
I am Not
A sum of your collected vision
I am not
No, I am not
A reflection of what you see in your eyes
I am myself
Whole and created
And So Much More
Than you see*
when the flag come down
and the curtain drops
i'm left standing alone
one gun in the hand
two in the chamber
one in my head
where is the remainder
black flag rises
curtain call at last
no one to mourn
my forgettable past

if
i
could
reach out and caress your soul

if
i
could
reach out and gently kiss your cheek

i looked into your eyes
and i could hardly catch my breath

i saw you for who you are
and i have never before seen such beauty

you
give
me
hope
that there could be a future

you
give
me
hope
that there may be a dawn

from time to time
a little man comes
dressed all in black
with one blue sock
he greets you with a grin
as toothless as a babe
his purpose is wrapped
in secrecy and obligatory
his goal is obtuse
with a wave of his
tiny 4 fingered hand
he announces his arrival
for now is the time

little is relative
in a land of giants
ten feet tall
if ever a day
he begins to speak
in a hushed down voice
of things he has seen
since his last visit here

birds made of gold
with jade wings and
one ruby eye
lions of balsa
hunting lambs of iron
five winged donkeys
flutter and sing
while two legged fiends
try to interrupt the scene
forty fingered frogs
and alliterative ants
fantastic voyages
little remorse

he sits and he spins
his tales long and tall
we know he is lying
his tales too hollow
we weary of the dreams
he so casually spills

and then it comes
the truth of the matter
he lets it slip in
unnoticed by most
we are the tale
he is telling today
we are the hollow
phantasms he spins
we have so busy been
fluttering and singing
we've missed the point
we are the vapor
of his wild imagine
we are the creatures
of some other's tale
sweet angel
entropy by design
i've lost you for good

vision of my youth
entropy by default
i see you no more

hope eternal
entropy by choice
you're beyond my grasp

love of my life
entropy's decay
has taken you from me
